Physical differences – The inReach mini 2 is slightly heavier (100g and 113g)
Please be aware you need a spine adapter for the Garmin inReach mini 2 if you want to attach the Garmin accessories i.e. backpack tether, bike mount etc
Screen size differs massively on the Garmin inReach messenger and Garmin inReach messenger.
With this larger screen it makes it easier to navigate a course on the Garmin inReach mini 2 and with it having an electronic compass on it you can very much navigate using this unit. Please do watch our walk and talk where we do this on the Garmin inReach mini-2.
You are unable to navigate a course with the Garmin inReach messenger.
Battery life – If you are doing 10-minute tracking you get 14 days on the inReach mini 2 and 28 days with the Garmin inReach messenger.
Both two-way satellite communicators work on the same contracts but the inReach messenger also works alongside the messenger app so some of the messages will go via your mobile data if available.
