One could try talkytoaster map card of uk and Ireland it’s much much cheaper and is a dynamic map with lots of detail. I got my etrex 32x from gps training and the map card from talkytoaster, neither have let me down yet.

Great video on the Garmin Montana 700 series, Jon.
I have one and I agree with all your points.
Battery life is not good if you are away from electricity for a while. I take a portable power pack and a solar panel to provide re-charging back-up (bought from you!).
I also bought your carry pouch which is ideal – can fit on trouser belt as well.
