UTMB 2025 – A Race for the Ages
The UTMB (Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc) once again delivered a spectacle in 2025, with electric crowds in Chamonix, dramatic weather shifts, and unforgettable performances from the world’s best trail runners.
From the opening moments on the packed streets of Chamonix, the atmosphere was buzzing. Rain, mud, and mountain climbs only heightened the drama, testing both mental grit and physical endurance.
Men’s Race - Tom Evans Makes History
British runner Tom Evans ran the race of his life, seizing control in the early stages and never letting go. After two previous DNFs at UTMB, Evans returned stronger than ever, running a consistent, composed race. Crossing the line in 19 hours 18 minutes, he became the 2025 UTMB men’s champion.
Behind him, Belgium’s Ben Dhiman fought hard for second place, finishing in 19 hours 51 minutes, while fellow Brit Josh Wade stormed home in 20 hours 5 minutes, rounding out a podium that showcased the strength of UK trail running.
Women’s Race – Ruth Croft’s Triple Crown
On the women’s side, New Zealand’s Ruth Croft produced a dominant performance, claiming victory in sub-23 hours. With this win, she secured the incredible UTMB Triple Crown – OCC, CCC, and UTMB – cementing her status as one of the sport’s true greats.
France’s Camille Bruyas pushed hard to secure second place, finishing under 23.5 hours, while trail running legend Courtney Dauwalter battled through to claim third in 24 hours 15 minutes. True to form, Courtney smiled and waved to the crowds even in the pain cave, showing why she’s beloved across the running world.
