Unboxing and first review of the Garmin eTrex Touch
The Garmin eTrex Touch is the newest addition to Garmin’s handheld GPS range, and in this unboxing video we give you a first look at what to expect when you take it out of the box.
Lightweight, compact, and built to withstand the outdoors, the eTrex Touch weighs just 150g and measures only 105mm high. Despite its small size, it comes packed with features:
- 3” colour transflective touchscreen – clear and easy to read even in bright sunlight
- Rechargeable lithium battery – up to 130 hours of use with all satellite systems enabled, or an incredible 650 hours in Expedition Mode
- Multi-band GNSS – locks onto GPS, Galileo, QZSS, and BeiDou for maximum accuracy
- IP67 weather rating – designed to handle tough conditions on the trail
- Electronic compass & barometric altimeter – for precise navigation when you’re on the move
Inside the box you’ll find the unit itself, a USB-C charging/data cable, and the essential quick-start guides. The eTrex Touch comes with 32GB of internal storage and pre-loaded TopoActive Europe mapping, giving you reliable coverage across the continent.
Garmin has also introduced a new spine adapter on the back, which works with the latest range of accessories (backpack tether, bike mount, webbing strap with carabiner).
In this first look, we also explore the responsive new home screen, the smooth map navigation, and the built-in geocaching and sun/moon widgets. Although this isn’t yet a full field review, it’s clear that the eTrex Touch is going to be an appealing option for walkers, runners, and event participants who want something more robust than a watch, but still extremely lightweight with unbeatable battery life.
